National Gender Coordination Forum (NGCF)
This Gender Coordination Forum (GCF) is held every three months in the World Bank conference hall. It is chaired by the Undersecretary.
All partner working on gender are welcome to attend the GCF. Participants include UN Women, UNMISS Gender Unit, UNFPA, UNICEF, NPA, IRC, ARC, and civil society organizations including SSWEN, SWETO, Voice Change and Ministries and commissions in the four pillars in the South Sudan development plan.
GBV sub cluster
Gender Based Violence Sub cluster meetings usually take place every month with support of UNFPA and American Refugee Committee.
Since December 2013 the meetings GBV sub-cluster has been meeting on a weekly basis.
The sub-cluster’s objectives are:
- To Share Experiences and information on GBV and work to find out ways of Supporting the Survivors.
- To monitor GBV incidents during the crises and after crisis.
- To coordinate prevention, protection and responses mechanism between the stake holders and Government(SOP).
UNSCR 1325 Steering Committee
This committee is responsible for the development of South Sudan’s National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325. It meets on an ad hoc basis. The committee is chaired by the Directorate of Gender.
